This is a (very ...

This is a (very much) DELAYED review: My husband and I went on a cross-country road trip from Michigan to San Diego (for our grandson's Marine's Boot Camp graduation), then to Oklahoma to visit family, then home again, making several 'side stops' along the way. Not knowing where we'd be when on this trip, we didn't make any reservations (except in San Diego), so we didn't decide on Desert Palms until we were about 2 hours away from it. We are both disabled. We knew we would be renting electric scooters for the duration of our visit, so we chose this hotel for its location/proximity to the park. We were glad we did! We rode the ECVs to the park in the morning, around the park for hours, then back to the hotel in the evening. It worked out GREAT! After reserving a room here, I called and reserved 2 ECVs, which were at the hotel by the time we arrived. The handicap-accessible room we were given was perfect for our needs. It was on the 1st floor, so we didn't have to mess with the elevator, and it had the perfect amount of space to park the ECVs in the room, right near the door. Our room was clean, comfortable and convenient, the employees were polite and professional, the included breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the handicap parking was very convenient (the spot we ide the door). There was a pool (which we 't e of) and gift shop on the premises as well. About the only complaint we had was that we had a HORRIBLE view (IF one could call it a view). Outside our window was the trash area (see photo)! We kept hearing what we thought was thunder (even when we KNEW it wasn't raining( or fireworks at the park. As it turned out, the loud 'booming' we heard was employees putting trash into the bins and closing the lids (they were under part of the parking garage or other similar enclosure, so the sound reverberate off the structure). All in all, we would definitely not hesitate to stay here again (though we'd probably request a room with a better view). Nor would we hesitate to recommend it to family and friends. If you are planning a trip to Disneyland, we recommend it for you, as well!
